Today was a pretty good day. The weather was nice. I sold a scooter on behalf of my buddy. Did some work on the camper I bought at the end of September. Got a couple of decent little scooter rides in. Did a bit of yard work. The kids managed to entertain themselves outside for several hours . My wife made an awesome dinner.

It was a damn fine day.

The only pisser is my truck started honking Service Brake System at me this morning.

I’m going to drop it off at my favorite indie mechanic on Monday. I really don’t feel like dealing with this one myself. He can fix whatever is causing the evap code to turn on the check engine light while he’s at it.

Oh yeah, and my driver’s side step tube collapsed from rust. That was a pisser too.

Overall, still a pretty damn good day.

Hammer trying the camouflage tactic, I see.

We were rained in, which kind of dog-piled on the quarantine malaise that’s already getting to us. But no worries, I still put in a little work. Also, I just found out that Rick Springfield and Chicago are touring through here this summer, if it’s not cancelled. Think I’ll bust out the old credit card for this one and take the wife on a date.

After my adventure today, the Hella horns got delivered after a amazon delay of a day. I found out that at one time they had to rewire one horn, and that epic job got foiled because the wire pulled out of the terminal and only one horn was operational. Added a new terminal, adjusted the horns on the brackets, plugged it in and they didn’t work.

Some fidgeting and turning on the key to aux they still didn’t work, but the light was dimming, so something was happening. Put it in neutral, started it, and honk honk. I actually have a high and low tone now. The horns did come with a relay, but As long as it works while running I’m fine with it. I shouldn’t need to honk with just the key. But if I ever add a radio I’ll put in the relay.

I saw them twice, once touring with the Beach Boys, and once at Notre Dame, where I got to meet and greet the band back stage, and meet Ara Parseghian, because it was a fund raiser for his foundation.
